The Eastern & Oriental Express Luxury Train welcomes Chefs Jacques and Laurent Pourcel
The famous twins of French gastronomy will associate their talents with E&O Executive Chef Kevin Cape
This famous duo has chosen the Asian Orient-Express train and its executive chef Kevin Cape to wrap up their tour throughout Asia to celebrate the opening of their latest restaurant, 'Sens et Saveurs' in Tokyo.
For several months the Pourcel brothers and Kevin Cape have been working closely together to plan and prepare a joint lunch and dinner menu to serve guests travelling on board the E&O from Bangkok.
Jacques & Laurent Pourcel created in 1988 one of the finest and more successful restaurants in France, 'Le Jardin des Sens' in Montpellier, which obtained in 1998 three stars in the Michelin Guide and was noted 18/20 by Gault Millau. In a modern and artistic environment, the Pourcel celebrate the typical cuisine of their native region in the south of France, Languedoc. They artistically blend earthly and marine flavours, to create a very aromatic and "southern flavoured" gastronomy, based on olive oil, herbs, wine, fish and seafood.
Their influences will blend in well with the more Asian touch of executive chef Kevin Cape, who has since 1993 presented E&O passengers with a discerning cuisine of high level, recognised by the most influential experts. His specialities pay tribute to the Asian flavours and perfumes, in harmony with the environment of the Eastern & Oriental Express. Kevin Cape is a member of the renowned Academie Culinaire de France (French Culinary Academy).
